Last Saturday, Sydney rolled back it’s clocks by one hour
Since then, my brain and body has been so sour
My brain says it’s not that late, it’s only 10:00pm
But my body is tired, it knows that it’s really 11:00pm
Next day, I go to work with a heavy head
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – I feel a heavy dread
Things at work were not looking good
An upgrade last night did not go as it should
A friend reminded me that Zumba was on tonight
I told myself that dancing might improve my plight
So I danced and I danced freely
Cleared my head of all that’s dreary
Sweaty bodies jumping all around me
A brief respite that re-energized me
Mums and daughters of all shapes and sizes
Came together for one hour of exercises
The cool down song of the night was MJ
The perfect song to empty one’s grey
For now, I have forgotten the grind
Thank you Zumba for restarting my mind
Mind and body storm, no more
Mind and body restored, forevermore (laughs!)
“Girl, close your eyes
Let that rhythm get into you
Don’t try to fight it
There ain’t nothin’ that you can do
Relax your mind
Lay back and groove with mine
You got to feel that heat
And we can ride the boogie
Share that beat of love”

Wow! Another poet in the family. I wonder what this one wants.

it’s obvious you and your son got my genes, like mother like daughter………..
