Note to new readers: This post is part of my 30 Days of Writing Practice. I am allowing blocks of 10, 20 or 30 minutes of my day solely to putting my swirling thoughts on paper. No going back to edit which will only serve to stop the stream of consciousness. My writing buddy Kat and I (Wruddy for short), we call it writing from the heart. Please read my introduction for the full story.
Housekeeping. Friends who appear in this post are using a pseudonym because they are shy. Lol.
I have momentum and I need to keep moving. So what is next for my writing? At first, I thought I’ll finish right here. And go back to my erratic posts. Go back to comfortable and lazy. But no. Things happen for a reason. So I must keep moving forward. I’ve decided to keep going weekly. For the next 52 weeks. I decide to post every weekend, by Sunday night. Keep the working muscle fit. I may post more than one if I have more ammunition. Let us pretend for the next 52 weeks that I am writing for a newspaper or a magazine. Indulge me please ❤
Here is a list of subjects that I will be writing about:
– Wellness
– Mummy stories including special needs
– Brain farts (my inanities)
– My annual 12 books
The Wruddy Pages will continue on for 365 Days. Yes, we will have our very own 365 Days With Wruddy. Who knows, I might give 30 Days of Writing another go in the future. I can hear Ariel gasp when reading this.
I wish to thank my family. Ariel, who left me alone to write my dailies three times over. One for Wruddy, another for myGloryBox and sometimes I write a third page for myself. To Evernote. I documented my own experience. Thank you, wookie, for holding the fort, for allowing me to be distracted, for not admonishing me if I sometimes seem to be elsewhere. It happened often, didn’t it? I told Gabo at some point to “tell me off” when he sees me holding my iPhone in the middle of mummy chores. And he did tell me off. With much relish but oh so lovingly. He asked me one night “Why are you blogging so much, mum?” I don’t remember my response. But I do remember telling him that it is only for the month of May. I let him read posts about him. He loved the pictures of Kuya and him when they were little. Migo? He would lie quietly beside me when I am doing my 10 minute pages. Well not so quietly as I get small kisses from time to time.
I thank my friends. Pepper Potts, most especially, for putting up with my “absence” while I drink coffee with her. She doesn’t ask me questions. Yet, Pepper reminds me ever so gently to get a grip and don’t fall off my horse. She thinks I am riding the writing horse too fast and too hard. So thank you for putting up with my mental and emotional absence. I love you, Pepper.
To JS, my other coffee buddy and like-minded workmate. He put up with my silences too and distracted conversation. Thank you, JS. Pepper, JS and I would sit around having coffee. The two in deep conversation, while I write into Evernote. I am with friends. They are OK with this.
Another favourite workmate-friend, Venus, asked me once over lunch one day, “Where are you, Charina?” Not “what are you thinking”? I was amused with her question. It was more apt. Venus, a mummy energy source, keeps me grounded with her presence and scintillating conversation. She appreciates my writing. Thank you Venus and I do love you!
Most of all. I THANK YOU, MY READERS. For putting up with my writing practice and keeping me company for 30 days. For clicking. For reading. For giving feedback. I will remember all of you who followed me and left me gifts of compliments. Your feedback meant the world to me. I keep them all close to my heart. I admit, I even took screenshots. A writer needs to be read. We need an audience. There is no point in writing if no one reads. Even if the audience is one person, that is enough. We write to be heard. That’s it.
The month of June also brings new projects – “Back to eBay” and “Blogging using WordPress”. If I have excess energy, I will share eBay and WordPress stories. If you are interested in joining me, please let me know. This is your chance to taste the blogging life. C’mon don’t be shy, tell us your stories.
Build your writing muscle!
Let’s go sago!
